  • 09.07.21 UNWANTED SCHOOL UNIFORM?
Do you have any unwanted red Rhydywaun jumpers, ties and blazers lying around at home?
Are you willing to donate these items (which will need to be in good condition) to the Ffrindiau Rhydywaun School Uniform shop?
If yes is the answer, then pupils can bring their items to school next week. Year 11 and 13 are welcome to bring their items on results day (10.08.21 and 12.08.21).
We will be setting up a pop-up uniform shop in school during August. Further details of dates, times and stock we have for sale will be sent to you via ClassCharts and will be posted on the school website, Facebook and Twitter.

Headteacher's Column

  • Welcome from the Headteacher

At Rhydywaun we are committed to ensuring

wellbeing, ambition and the best opportunities for all.

    Gwir. Gweithgar. Gwych

I would like to start by thanking you all for your help, support and patience during this challenging time.

We are really looking forward to seeing all our pupils over the next few days. As Headteacher and as school staff, the idea of welcoming all our children back to a full timetable and normal school life is a wonderful one, we are hopeful that this will become a reality over the coming weeks and months.

With regard to the school induction period at the beginning of September, we are sticking to the plan shared with you in July.

The new arrangements will involve some adjustment: the school is likely to feel quite different from the one we left in March and over the summer. We will take our time, and focus on teaching, norms and routines and on ensuring that our pupils are happy and studying hard, as soon as possible.

We would like to reassure you that we have done a great deal of work to make the school as safe as possible. I am extremely grateful to all the school staff for their hard work and perseverance.

We are really looking forward to having our school fully functioning again and seeing our young people, however it is vital that you understand the plans and how we will respond in accordance with Welsh Government guidelines and the Local Authority, as we attempt to deal with the current situation.

    Miss Lisa Williams

    Headteacher
