At Rhydywaun we are committed to ensuring

wellbeing, ambition and the best opportunities for all.

Gwir. Gweithgar. Gwych

I would like to start by thanking you all for your help, support and patience during this challenging time.

We are really looking forward to seeing all our pupils over the next few days. As Headteacher and as school staff, the idea of welcoming all our children back to a full timetable and normal school life is a wonderful one, we are hopeful that this will become a reality over the coming weeks and months.

With regard to the school induction period at the beginning of September, we are sticking to the plan shared with you in July.

The new arrangements will involve some adjustment: the school is likely to feel quite different from the one we left in March and over the summer. We will take our time, and focus on teaching, norms and routines and on ensuring that our pupils are happy and studying hard, as soon as possible.

Here is the latest information for you as parents and pupils. It is essential that you read and understand our systems and how we will respond to situations, in the current circumstances:

We would like to reassure you that we have done a great deal of work to make the school as safe as possible. I am extremely grateful to all the school staff for their hard work and perseverance.

We are really looking forward to having our school fully functioning again and seeing our young people, however it is vital that you understand the plans and how we will respond in accordance with Welsh Government guidelines and the Local Authority, as we attempt to deal with the current situation.
