GCSE / BTEC Results 2013

posted 22 Aug 2013, 02:18 by Elen George   [ updated 22 Aug 2013, 11:45 ]

I wish to congratulate all Year 11 pupils and staff on ensuring the best ever results in the history of the school.  The progress in Year 11 has been remarkable.  The Level 2 threshold (5 or more Level 2 qualifications) increased from 62% in 2012 to 86% in 2013 (24 percentage points).  As a result the Level 2+ (5 Level 2 qualifications including Welsh or English and Mathematics) increased from 42% in 2012 to 55% in 2013 – again the best ever result in the history of the school.  This is all due to the commitment and drive of the pupils and staff at Rhydywaun, the curricular changes since 2011, the improvement in the use of data, and improvement in tracking and monitoring procedures of the school.  This is a very proud day for all those connected with the school.

I wish to draw attention to the following students who gained these impressive grades and we look forward to their return in September 2013 as they commence their AS, BTEC and NVQ courses.
