Options Evening

A very successful Options Evening was held in the school hall which was packed full of Year 11 pupils and parents! The message was conveyed clearly to them that it's important not to let short term uncertaincies regarding school transport affect important long term decisions for our pupils' education. Informative and interesting presentations were given by Mr Trystan Edwards, Deputy Head, Miss Laura Sweet, Head of Progress Year 11 and Miss Meriel Powell, Head of Sixth Form and Mr Dafydd Francis Head of Key Stage 3 & 4. Between them, they painted a clear picture of life in the Sixth Form at Rhydywaun and the breadth of opportunities we can offer pupils, ranging from extra curricular activities to a variety of trips and excursions, the Welsh learning environment and not forgetting the support and guidance of a team of caring teachers. It was lovely to see the parents and pupils visiting departments to hear more about the Key Stage 5 courses on offer. We definitely have something for everyone - if you haven't already seen it have a look at our Options Handbook!
